Strength and conditioning is essential for good health and fitness especially as your physical activities increase and as we age.
I recommend clients join a local cross training fitness class that incorporates weights and also a Pilates or Yoga class once a week as it's a great way to strengthen and condition the body, it's fun and the class goes way faster compared to doing the exercises on your own!
But if you can't make a class I've outlined a few exercises below to help get you started.

Forward and Backwards Leg Lunges (add hand weights or kettle bells for greater effort).
